and healthcare.gov headaches, president obama is renewing the push for his signature health care law. and this white house knows, they have no time to waste. to promote the law and boost enrollment, the administration will hold an event every single day from now until december 23rd, the deadline to enroll and get insurance for the new year. and it all started this afternoon, with the president himself, who said we are not going back. >> and that seems to be the only alternative that obama care's critics have, is let's go back to the status quo, because they sure haven't presented an alternative. you've got good ideas? bring them to me. let's go. but we're not repealing it as long as i'm president. >> no, we're not going to repeal the law. and, in fact, the real ballots may have just begun. >> if i've got to fight another three years to make sure this law works, that's what i'll do. what's important for everybody to remember is, not only that the law has already helped millions of people, but that there are millions more who stand to be helped. and we've got to make sure they know tha

, there's been a lot of noise around obama care. and its launch in october. and the failures that float from that. but as you know, joy, i've said from the very beginning of this year that, you know, the party has an opportunity to put some real -- substantive policy on the table to differentiate itself not just rhetorically from this administration, but, you know, and politically, but also in terms of what it hopes to accomplish in something -- with something like obama care. and i think that that opportunity is still there. the question he is, do they take advantage of it going into a new year, where you're going to have on top of, you know, the watch, the death watch by republicans and the hopeful watch by democrats, you know, in the launch of obama care, the budget issues, sequester and all these things begin to take a new shape, beginning in just a few short weeks. >> and, you know, jonathan, a lot of times presidencies are pronounced dead over and over again by the media, every wrong turn -- it's the end of the presidency. so, you know, sort of give us perspective. put the obama a

has to be on protecting the american people from obama care. we have passed bill after bill trying to protect the american people from this disaster. so protecting the american people from obama care has been another priority. >> got that? he is protecting us. excellent. our panel is also the opinion writer. also a msnbc contributor. i didn't get to name your fabulous newspaper. we are looking forward to chris matthews interview and sitting down with the president and american university in front of a very deliberate audience which is young people. this is where the battle is being joined. the president is trying to convince younger americans that it's for you and republicans making what argument to young people some. >> the argument they are making with the creepy uncle sam showed they still do it. it's by the obama administration to make you get something you don't need and you probably don't want. it's a crazy thing. the president is going after young people in particular. one because you need them in the pool. you need the premiums and helping people in the pools to help pay fo

of inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking. not anymore. if you still don't like obama care, you owe it to the american people to tell us what you are for. not just what you're against. >>> here at 30 rock, we are counting down to tonight's lighting of the famous rockefeller christmas tree. that war on christmas, a lot of hum bug, of course. but as president obama prepares to join in the national tree-lighting on friday, he's got a few other things to attend to. first, including a long list of policy goals that he wants to achieve for the american people. starting, of course, with the affordable care act. the affordable care for all. so just this afternoon, the president kept up his three-week push to promote the affordable care act. this time in a white house youth summit. >> i'm going to need you all to spread the word about how the affordable care act really works. what its benefits are, what its protections are. and most importantly, how people can sign up. i know people call this law obama care. and that's okay. because i do care. and -- i do. >> that event highlighting

care. for you folks to consider obama care as a measure of community in america. that's what motivates barack obama. he knows it's tough -- >> and he gave it up. >> the last 15 minutes of this extraordinary were extraordinary. i've never seen anything like it, where a president kind of unburdened himself to you about why he's in the ball game. and i thought he made a very compelling case for his own decency, whatever the screwups were managerially, and they were real. >> and chris, can i say, i felt like we saw two interviews with the president. in the first half of that interview, you saw a man who is incredibly frustrated by what i think he sees as the smallness of the debate in washington. where we don't talk about the big things, the big sweeping issues that matter to the country, or we boil it down to petty fights, frustrated incredibly with the republicans and with the media. but in the second half of that interview, i saw the guy that i first met in 2004, when he was essentially an activist, attempting to use politics to move forward grand issues, really big themes. somebody who
